Most Swirl Marks Are Self-Inflicted
Grit lifted, not dragged
Pre-soak, then clean media and plenty of lubrication so caliche dust comes off the panel instead of being pushed across it.
Wheels done separately
Brake dust and road film are the dirtiest thing on the vehicle. They get their own tools and never touch your paint.
Dried, not air-dried
Letting Basin water evaporate on hot paint is how you get mineral etching. We dry it before the sun does.
Exterior Detailing FAQ
Is this just a car wash?
No. A tunnel wash is spinning brushes and recycled water — it's where most swirl marks come from. This is a pH-neutral hand wash with wheels and barrels cleaned separately, bug and tar removal, a safe dry with clean towels, and a sealant applied at the end.
What does the sealant do?
It gives dust and hard water something to sit on other than your clear coat, and it adds UV protection. It lasts weeks to a couple of months out here. For protection measured in years, that's a ceramic coating.
Will it remove water spots or swirl marks?
Light, fresh water spots often come off in the wash. Etched mineral rings and swirl marks are damage in the clear coat — those need machine polishing, which is paint correction. We'll tell you which one you're looking at.
Can you do it at my office while I work?
Yes, and it's a popular option — an exterior detail is about an hour and fifteen minutes. We're self-contained, so a parking space is all we need.
