Ceramic Coating:
Dust Loses Its Grip

Wax sits on top of your paint for a few weeks. A ceramic coating bonds to it and stays for years. Out here the real win is that dust, bugs and hard water stop bonding to the surface.

What's Included

What a coating actually does.

  • Hydrophobic surface — water beads and sheets off instead of drying into mineral rings
  • UV and oxidation defence — a sacrificial hard layer between 300 days of sun and your clear coat
  • Chemical and etch resistance against bug guts, bird droppings and sprinkler water
  • Gloss with real depth — correction creates the reflection, the coating locks it in
  • Far easier washes, with much less physical contact on your paint
  • Optional coverage for wheels, glass and exterior trim
The Process

Five Stages, None Skipped

01

Wash & chemical decon

Full hand wash, then iron and fallout removers to dissolve embedded brake dust and industrial particles.

02

Mechanical decon

Clay or synthetic media to shear off whatever the chemicals left behind, until the paint is genuinely smooth.

03

Polish / correct

Machine polishing to remove swirls, wash marks and water-spot etching. This is where the gloss comes from.

04

Panel wipe & coat

Every panel stripped of polishing oils so nothing blocks the bond, then the coating applied and levelled by hand.

05

Cure & hand-off

The coating needs to stay dry while it cures. We tell you exactly how long, and how to wash it so it lasts.

Prep is most of the job. A coating is only as good as the surface under it. Anyone can wipe a bottle of coating onto dirty paint — that's why cheap coatings fail in months.
What It Costs

Why there's
no price list.

Two identical trucks can need completely different work. One has 8,000 miles and needs a light polish. The other spent four years on caliche leases and needs two correction stages before a coating is worth applying. A single published price would mean overcharging one of them.

So we do it the honest way: we look at the paint, explain what we'd do and why, and give you one number with the correction included. If a coating isn't worth it on your vehicle, we'll say that too.

What the quote depends on

  • Vehicle size and panel count
  • Paint condition and correction needed (1–3 stage)
  • Coating product and expected durability
  • Add-ons: wheels, glass, trim
  • The assessment itself is free
Questions

Ceramic Coating FAQ

How much does a ceramic coating cost?

It's quoted per vehicle, because the paint decides the work. A new truck that needs a light polish and a coating is a very different job from a ten-year-old daily with etched water spots and swirl marks. We look at the paint and give you one number before anything starts.

How long does a ceramic coating last in West Texas?

It depends on the coating, the prep, and how the vehicle is washed and stored. Professionally applied coatings are built to last years rather than months. We'll recommend a product for your vehicle and walk you through the maintenance washes that keep both the gloss and the warranty intact.

Does a coating mean I never have to wash it?

No — and anyone who tells you that is selling something. It means washing gets dramatically easier and safer: dust and hard water release during a rinse instead of needing to be scrubbed, and scrubbing is what puts swirls in paint.

Will it stop rock chips?

No. Coatings are chemical and UV protection measured in microns — not impact protection. For chips from gravel roads and caliche leases you want paint protection film, and our sister shop Trust N Tint handles PPF.

Do I need paint correction first?

Usually. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, including swirls and etching, and then you're looking at those flaws for years under a layer of gloss. We assess honestly — sometimes a single-stage polish is plenty.

Can you coat wheels, glass and trim?

Yes. Wheel faces and barrels are where coatings pay off fastest because brake dust stops baking on. Glass coatings make rain and sprinkler water bead off the windshield, and trim coatings keep black plastic from going grey.
